Get Connected: Navigate Your Career to Success on ONELab

ASCP ONELab is now live. This dynamic online platform was developed with you and our medical laboratory community in mind to build stronger connections with colleagues, participate in forums with experts in the field, and gain insights that will help advance your career.  

Join the ONELab community now and take part in the 2013 ASCP Annual Report Contest, challenging your knowledge of ASCP’s accomplishments on behalf of you and the medical laboratory profession over the past year. (Hint: Read the ASCP 2013 Annual Report for clues.)

The contest starts today and runs through Feb. 11, 2014 and offers an opportunity to compete for daily prizes.

Each daily winner will receive a $5 Starbucks card and will be entered to a drawing to win the grand prize—a $100 gift card. Winners will be announced everyday on Facebook and Twitter. For contest details, log onto 2013 ASCP Annual Report Contest.

  • Former First Lady Laura W. Bush and other high-profile luminaries shared their stories of national and international patient advocacy during ASCP 2012 Boston Annual Meeting to elevate awareness of pathology and the medical laboratory profession.   

  • To improve patient care and reduce unnecessary testing, ASCP announced five diagnostic tests physicians and patients should question as part of the Choosing Wisely campaign.  

  • Lab Management University, a new education program, has helped pathologists and medical laboratory scientists hone their lab management skills to advance their careers.

  • The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education has recognized the quality of the ASCP continuing medical education (CME) program – activities which keep pathologists at the leading edge of their profession – by awarding it the highest level of accreditation.

  • ASCP is addressing the workforce shortage and the future of the laboratory with outreach programs to encourage elementary and high school students to explore careers in laboratory medicine.

  • The Society’s influence in the global community increased through a 45-percent growth in ASCP international certifications, to improve the quality of laboratory medicine and the delivery of health care around the globe.
