Quest Diagnostics To Acquire Lab Assets From University Hospitals

Modern Healthcare (8/21, DeSilva, Subscription Publication) reports Quest Diagnostics has “entered a definitive agreement” to acquire “some outreach laboratory assets” from Cleveland-based University Hospitals, a deal that should “close in the fourth quarter pending regulatory approval, the company said in a Wednesday news release.” The agreement “includes laboratory draw locations inside University Hospitals’ health centers, a University Hospitals spokesperson said,” though they “did not provide more details about which assets would be involved in the transaction.” Additionally, any “outpatient laboratory employees would have the chance to join Quest Diagnostics, assuming the successful completion of pre-employment screenings, the spokesperson said.”
