ASCP Mastership Awards

Please email any questions to membership@ascp.org.

The ASCP Mastership designation recognizes distinguished members (both pathologists and laboratory professionals) who have made significant contributions to the field of pathology and laboratory medicine and to ASCP. This exclusive title is accorded to an elite few and is recognized as a noteworthy sign of distinction in the pathology and laboratory fields.

Eligibility is based on years of ASCP membership, significant career accomplishments, and contributions to the Society and to the profession.

  • An individual must have been a fellow or member in good standing for at least 10 years
  • Current members of the ASCP Board of Directors, Board of Certification Board of Governors, and/or members of the ASCP Awards Committee are not eligible for this nomination
  • Individuals may not self-nominate nor be involved in the nomination process

Individuals awarded the Master distinction will be able to use the credentials “MASCP” after their name. This credential would replace the distinction FASCP, and appear before any Board of Certification designations, such as MASCP, MLS(ASCP)CM.

To celebrate the honoree’s distinguished achievements, ASCP will:

  • Provide complimentary registration to ASCP Annual Meeting and a stipend to assist with travel and lodging
  • Issue an elegant, engraved trophy to commemorate this honor
  • Highlight the honoree’s accomplishments on the ASCP website and in an ASCP publication or newsletter
