ASCP Works for YOU, Especially During the COVID-19 Pandemic

March 14, 2022

Two years ago this month, the United States went into quarantine as the COVID-19 pandemic began to spread. ASCP leaders immediately took action on behalf of our members and patients. The Society successfully lobbied the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other organizations to allow testing to diagnose patients with COVID-19.

In addition, ASCP held numerous free, virtual Town Halls to our members with the latest education on COVID-19, recommended optimal COVID-19 testing strategies, and advocated for a national education campaign to advocate for vaccines.

“ASCP did more than its part to confront the pandemic, and I couldn’t be more proud of ASCP’s advocacy efforts,” says Gary Procop, MD, MS, MASCP, Immediate past chair of the ASCP Commission on Science, Technology, and Public Policy.

Check out this new video where Dr. Procop discusses the successful efforts ASCP advocated for on behalf of its members and the pathology and laboratory community.
