May 10, 2022

Gregory Sossaman, MD, FASCP, will present the findings of ASCP’s recent Supply Chain Survey and Ochsner’s strategies to address these issues during an upcoming call organized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Dr. Sossaman, a member of ASCP’s Board of Directors, will also discuss a recent editorial in the American Journal of Clinical Pathology that highlighted the Choosing Wisely campaign and other laboratory medicine stewardship guidelines to help reduce unnecessary testing that may be exacerbating laboratory supply shortages.

Dr. Sossaman is Systems Chairman, Medical Director & Service Line Leader, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine with Ochsner Health System. He will make his presentation during the CDC’s Clinical Laboratory COVID-19 Response Call on May 16 at 3 p.m. Eastern time.
