Inherited Variants In DNA Repair Genes May Increase Risk For Multiple Myeloma, Study Indicates

Healio (11/4, Friedman) reports, “Inherited variants in DNA repair genes such as BRCA1 and BRCA2 may increase risk for multiple myeloma, according to results of a retrospective study.” Investigators found that “patients with pathogenic germline variants exhibited increased likelihood of having a family or personal history of cancer, or of getting diagnosed at a younger age.” The findings were published in Blood Cancer Discovery.
