Anal High-Risk HPV, Abnormal Cytology Are Common Among Transgender Women, Research Suggests

Healio (11/27, Stulpin) reported, “Anal high-risk HPV and abnormal cytology were common among transgender women regardless of their age, HIV status and/or hormone use, researchers determined.” Investigators found “that higher testosterone levels were associated with any high-risk HPV.” The findings were published in Open Forum Infectious Diseases.
