Muscle Mass Biomarker May Be Associated With Risk Of Developing ALS, Research Finds

ALS News Today (1/2, Dominguez Cerezo) reports, “A muscle mass biomarker called the creatinine-to-cystatin C ratio may indicate the risk of developing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a study that relied on a large-scale database shows.” Investigators found that “a lower ratio was associated with higher ALS risk, particularly in the participants between the ages of 40 and 65.” The findings were published in Scientific Reports.
