The Coalition for implementation Research in Global Oncology, or CIRGO, announces that this year’s Request for Proposals will be open for submissions from October 4 to November 5. Projects should take specific aspects of the cancer care system (screening, for example) and then create implementation projects to explore important questions about cancer diagnosis and care in low- and middle-income countries. All projects should be limited to one year in duration, with clearly defined aims, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Interested investigators can download the proposal template at
www.cirgo.org and submit their completed forms to
globalhealth@ascp.org. Beginning in November, proposals will be objectively reviewed by an independent committee of experts convened by CIRGO. Applicants will be notified of the status of their proposal in the first week of January, 2022.
Successful applicants will receive an award as a grant from the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Each awarded project will be evaluated at the six-month and one-year mark to monitor progress and identify best practices. Awardees will also be paired with an advisor who can provide support and guidance. For more information, please visit
