ASCP Choosing Wisely Initiative Celebrates 10 Years
ASCP’s Institute for Science, Technology and Policy has planned three important sessions in conjunction with the ASCP 2022 Annual Meeting. The first is a virtual session, ASCP Choosing Wisely at Age 10: Looking Back and Looking Forward, on August 22 as part of “The Path to Chicago.” Also, Choosing Wisely Champions Inspire Effective Test Utilization Measures, will be held Sept. 7. Lastly, don’t miss Workforce Crisis: Time to Act, focusing the state of the medical laboratory workforce, on Sept 8.

Action Alert Spurs 8,400+ Laboratory Professionals to Oppose Plan to Let Nurses Perform High Complexity Testing 
More than 8,400 laboratory professionals responded to an ASCP and ASCP Board of Certification Action Alert, urging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to repeal its proposed rule to allow nurses to perform high and moderate-complexity testing. Read more.
