ASCP Urges Congress to Address Laboratory Workforce Crisis
ASCP and the ASCP Board of Certification have submitted a statement to the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, urging it to take action to alleviate a critical shortage of laboratory personnel. Remote Slide Review Should be Permanent, ASCP Urges CMS
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, ASCP successfully persuaded the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to allow pathologists and laboratory personnel to review slides remotely, without a separate approval of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments. ASCP, AMA Support Reforms to Prior Authorization Proposal

ASCP, the American Medical Association and other organizations are applauding the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid’s proposed reforms of prior authorization to the Medicare Advantage and the Medicare prescription drug benefit programs.
