During this interactive session, pre-selected teams will tackle real-world scenarios encountered in the clinical laboratory setting. Teams can overcome obstacles and emerge victorious in moving their laboratory advocacy efforts forward by using resources available in the ASCP Negotiation & Advocacy Toolbox.
The Toolbox is intended to support laboratory leaders to advocate for the needs of the laboratory on behalf of laboratory professionals and staff. It is divided into five pillars: 1) Promoting Laboratory Visibility, 2) People & Culture, 3) Quality, 4) Lab Finance, and 5) Service & Growth. Each pillar applies relevant tools and templates as a guide to demonstrating the value of the laboratory to your organization’s hospital administration and decision-makers.
In addition to this event, the General Session will allow attendees to follow the team challenges and participate in the discussion with facilitators about how to apply resources from the Toolbox to these challenges. Participants are eligible to receive 1.5 CMLE credits while building skills to advocate for their laboratory and staff.
The Applying the ASCP’s Negotiation & Advocacy Toolbox to Advocate for Your Laboratory’s Needs session infuses community, competition, and camaraderie.
