Pulmonology Advisor (11/11, Nye) reports, “In sarcoidosis, elevated inflammatory proteins in plasma are evident years before the onset of disease, according to study findings.” The researchers said, “Several inflammatory proteins were elevated in plasma many years before sarcoidosis onset compared to controls, revealing a preclinical phase characterised by inflammation.” The findings were published in the European Respiratory Journal.
