The American Journal of Managed Care (12/17) reports, “Through whole transcriptome and whole genome sequencing, researchers of a new study are suggesting a certain gene expression be considered the defining feature of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with t(7;12)(q36;p13).” While “using samples from pediatric patients with AML with t(7;12), researchers of the new study suggest that while patients with the disease subtype may express varying fusion transcripts and translocation breakpoints, the subtype is homogenous phenotypically.” The findings were published in Genes, Chromosomes and Cancer.
