This month, ASCP will begin conducting its 2019 Wage Survey to provide the most recent wage data within the nation’s clinical laboratory workforce. Since 1988, this survey has served as the primary source of information for academic, governmental, and industry labor analysts. Results from past surveys show that laboratory medicine is a rapidly evolving field. ASCP continues to gather questions, comments, and suggestions from our members regarding the profession with the goal of addressing them through this important survey. Additionally, this survey will also serve as a starting point for further studies of the laboratory workforce by using the current data collected to conduct in-depth surveys for the purpose of recruitment, retention, education, marketing, certification and advocacy. The survey is expected to launch on Feb. 18 and run through March 18.
