ASCP 2019: Prepare to Conquer the Boards With the ASCP Resident Review Series!

June 28, 2019

By Karen Moser, MD, FASCP, and T. Scott Isbell, PhD, DABCC

The Resident Review Series at ASCP 2019 provides an interactive review of highly testable topics in challenging areas within pathology and laboratory medicine. In our session, Laboratory Management and Coagulation, we will discuss laboratory management and hemostasis and thrombosis laboratory testing.

Topics we will review include:

  • Pre-analytic variables in hemostasis testing—having the right sample makes a big difference in getting the right results.
  • New therapies affecting hemostasis—tools for keeping all the new hemophilia therapies and anticoagulants straight.
  • Directing a Lab 101—essential knowledge for the lab medical director
  • Total quality management—tools for running a high-quality lab
  • And more!

This Resident Review Session is sure to be a fast-paced, engaging, case-based review of high-yield concepts in laboratory management and hemostasis/thrombosis testing. A key interactive feature of the course is numerous boards-style questions for you to answer during the workshop. We are looking forward to meeting you in Phoenix! We welcome your comments both here on ASCP News and at the 2019 ASCP Annual Meeting.
